Course dates: 18 August to 25 August 2012
Oils and Soft Pastels
Artist Margaret Ferraro divides her time between her two disciplines: teaching and painting. Over the last decade Margaret has built a reputation as a teacher of figure drawing, as well as pastel. Believing that a strong foundation in drawing is the key to unlocking self expression, Margaret urges everyone, of all ages, to build this skill.
Margaret teaches many courses in Oils, Pastels and Acrylics at her country home/studio, in an intimate non-judgmental setting. She also teaches in schools, and for various art organizations, such as Algonquin College, and Sir Sandford Fleming College. The continuous thread in her workshops is the development of solid drawing and composition skills: "The ultimate training," she says.
Margaret has exhibited widely throughout Canada and the United States, and has participated in the Pastel Society of America show, Pastel Artists of Canada, and Pastel society of Eastern Canada…..and many others.
Margaret has extensive experience in figure work, and during Spring and Summer concentrates on landscapes and gardens (or any time the flowers are blooming!), going for as much en plein air as she can squeeze in.
