Australian artist rents the mill
Wednesday, September 24th, 2008This Summer Australian artist, Patricia Johnston, rented the mill for a couple of weeks in July, together with some of her painting students, family and friends. They had a marvellous time by all accounts, and she has just sent us some of the work she did.
Patricia says:
“The highlight of this week must have been the Disfida [mediaeval 'challenge'] on Sunday evening 13th July: the streets of Fivizzano were alive with marching, drumming, flag throwing and archery - all very thrilling to see. The second week my two pupils, Jannine and Julia, arrived and we continued to explore, have leisurely lunches and paint and discover some beautiful villages as well as utilize the studio. The weather in July was beautiful and the mountains around seemed to keep the area at a lovely temperature. I think there was only one showery morning in the two weeks I was there. Posara is certainly a beautiful place and my apartment was so comfortably equipped.”
So, if you are an artist and would like a special break with your own group, just get in touch!
(We’ll be showing you more of Patricia’s work in the next newsletter……)
